Challenge: Design a 1,200 SF bubble tea and ice shop in an existing tattoo parlor space with no F&B infrastructure. The existing building is located in a vibrant up-and-coming neighborhood in Memphis, TN. The space was previously occupied by a tattoo parlor and was not only dark and cluttered, but also had never been used as a F&B space and needed to be equipped from the ground-up.

The branding was a big inspiration for the design details of the space. The branded icon is an ice cream ghost with playful, colorful details which were incorporated into the millwork design. Using a fresh, unexpected color palette and warm lighting, the space invites patrons, both young and old, into the shop to enjoy a refreshing boba tea or house-made ice cream.

“We imagined what a modern ice cream shop would look like.”
